Facilities, Occupancy, Checking In/Out

Rhossili Village Hall and Bunkhouse is run by Trustees for the benefit of the local community. The bunkhouse and village hall, although in the same building, are quite separate but share a large kitchen and toilets. When staying you will be in a community building and from time to time people from the village might enter the building for social events or meetings in the hall. These events are usually small, fairly infrequent and well managed. You will be fully informed if anything is going on in the hall during your stay before you arrive.

All of the facilities are available for hire for special occasions, events, training, meetings or as a base for a wide range of outdoor activities.

The Lounge/Dining room on the ground floor can be used as accommodation for up to 4 additional guests, bringing the total staying overnight to 22. This constitutes Sole Occupancy. Please note that from 27 March 2011, Sole Occupancy no longer includes use of the Hall, which can be booked separately.

Please see our Terms & Conditions for full information on prices and payments.

Outside

South Facing There is a large south-facing patio, which is perfect for barbeques. There is also a small garden, which is accessible via steps or a gentle ramp.

A separate outside store with six Velomann Stocker racks is available for storing bikes, surf boards, canoes etc. Also within the store is a dedicated drying room equipped with a dehumidifier for drying coats and boots. An outside tap and rail is provided for rinsing and hanging up wet suits and gear on the lower patio adjacent to the lawn.

The store can be accessed directly from the car park and via the lower patio at the back of the premises. The store doors are equipped with locks that are operated using the key cards issued to guests on arrival. It is the responsibility of guests to ensure that both store doors are secured when leaving their belongings inside.

Parking

Our Car Park has space for around 10 vehicles (a couple more if they are all parked considerately). It is alongside the Village Hall and provides convenient parking for Village Hall visitors and Bunkhouse guests. It is a private Car Park owned by the Trustees of Rhossili Village Hall and is operated on a 'first come, first served' basis. We occasionally, at our discretion, allow members of the general public to use our Car Park, although it is not a public car park.

We should be grateful if you can keep access to the Car Park clear at all times. Please also be aware that unimpeded 24hr access to the lane in front of the property is required by our good neighbours at Ship Farm and by the Coastguard who are often called out to coastal emergencies.

Availability

The accommodation and facilities are available for weekends, midweek and weekly bookings. An availability calendar can be found here. Please complete a Booking Enquiry Form to request accommodation.

Occupancy

There are four types of occupancy:

Shared Occupancy (Bunkhouse only)
Small groups sharing the bunkhouse, kitchen and lounge/dining facilities with other groups. Different groups will be allocated different rooms.

Full Occupancy (Bunkhouse only)
Hiring all the accommodation and having the exclusive use of all the facilities on the first floor (all 7 rooms and the upstairs toilet facilities) the ground floor shower rooms, laundry room and dining area. Kitchen and toilet facilities are shared if a community event is scheduled. You are, of course, welcome to join in with the fun and will be informed of any events that are scheduled during your stay. The Community Hall is not included. If the Hall is required in addition to Full Occupancy, then the Hall must be booked out separately for the full duration of your Bunkhouse booking.

Sole Occupancy (Bunkhouse only)
This gives you the privilege of the sole use of the bunkhouse and kitchen facilities. The maximum number staying overnight is 22, utilising 4 single sofa-beds in the lounge on the ground floor, in addition to the 18 beds on the first floor. The Community Hall is not included. If the Hall is required in addition to Sole Occupancy, then the Hall must be booked out separately for the full duration of your Bunkhouse booking.

Special Event (Bunkhouse and Community Hall)
You will have Sole Occupancy plus exclusive use of the Hall for up to 100 people throughout the duration of your stay. If the Hall (and/or kitchen) are required outside the Sole Occupancy period, for instance for more preparation or clearing up time, then the Hall must be booked out separately for the extra periods. Sole Occupancy can be booked in advance for additional nights. The Hall is not available as overnight accommodation.

Please see our Terms & Conditions for full information on prices and payments.

Check-in

Check-in time is by arrangement and should be between 4pm and 9pm on your day of arrival. On arrival you will be met by one or more members of the community who will show you the facilities, explain how things work, and answer any questions. They will issue your group with key cards, providing you with access to the facilities you have booked for the duration of your stay. They will also be on call throughout your stay, for emergencies only.

N.B. Outside the period from 4pm to 9pm, we cannot guarantee that there will be anyone available to meet you and let you into the Bunkhouse, even if you forewarn us of early or late arrival. If you are travelling far, please check the map and directions in advance, and allow sufficient time for your journey. Please allow for extra traffic on a Friday afternoon, especially if travelling from London and in the Summer months.

Check-out

Please vacate the property by 10.30 am on the day of departure to allow us sufficient time for cleaning and any maintenance before the next visitors arrive. When vacating the premises, please leave the bunkhouse clean and tidy using the cleaning products provided and inform us of any damage or breakages.

Key cards

Your key card provides you with easy access to the rooms and areas you need to use during your stay. Each card is reprogrammed and recycled for each group of guests, so must be returned at the end of your stay. We provide the cards with a cover to minimise damage and a keyring or clasp to reduce the risk of them being lost or stolen. We should appreciate them being looked after. If you do lose or break your key card(s), we shall charge a replacement fee of £5.00 per card.
